Body Language and Eyes
When it comes to reading a persons body language then looking at their eyes is a great way to start. As the saying goes, someones eyes can be like the windows to their soul. When looking into their eyes you can usually tell exactly what they are thinking and feeling, without them having to utter a word. Here is a short list of things to look out for next time you are trying to work out what someone is feeling by looking into their eyes.
When someone is gazing at you intently when you are talking, it could mean that they are greatly interested in what you have to say. This can also mean that they may be interested in you romantically, especially if you notice that their pupils are dilated.
If you notice that someone is glancing away from you whilst you are talking to them this could mean that they are trying to look for an excuse to get away. This is especially true if you notice them glancing at the doorway or window. Glancing can also mean a desire for the object they are glancing at.
Someone who is lying will often have very shifty looking eyes. Their eyes will dart to the left and right, indicating that they are looking for somewhere to escape. If they look down then this could mean that they fear that they have been found out. Similarly if someone squints at you whilst you are talking this could mean that they suspect you are lying to them.
When someone looks up when you are talking it could mean that they are thinking about what you have to say. Maybe you have just asked them a question, and they are trying to remember the answer. Looking up can also mean someone is getting annoyed, and are trying to find a way out of the conversation.
