Reading Body Language – Explained
In recent years the study of body language has become increasingly popular, and many more people has begun to realise just how important it is to be able to interpret it. Did you know that over 50% of our communication done with other people is non verbal, which means we use our body language and facial expressions more than we use actual words to let someone know how we feel.
Most of the time our body language is something that we cannot control, it is our body’s natural reaction to certain situations. For example someone who is lying may give off certain signals subconsciously through their body and expressions that tells the other person that they may not be telling the truth.
Similarly, someone who is attracted to you may also give you signals from the way they look at you, and the way their body reacts around you. However it is not always easy to read these signals, and this is something you may have to learn to do by studying body language.
If you can learn to understand the basic concepts of body language then you can also use it to your advantage in your every day situations. For example, you can become more confident if you use confident body language in difficult situations, like in a job interview, or when you are standing on a stage.
There are many places online (including this site) where you can learn all about how body language works, and how to interpret it. Like mentioned above over half of our communication is non-verbal, and if you truly want to know what someone really means when they are talking to you, then it is something that must be learnt.
