Understanding Body Language – How to Tell if They are Lying
People lie every day, whether it be just a little white lie, or a huge one that can impact another person’s life. Which ever way you look at it, being lied to is not a good experience, and sometimes it can be hard to tell if someone is telling the truth or not. But the good news is there is a way to find out if you are talking to a liar, and that is to take a good look at their body language.
If you suspect that someone may be telling you a lie, then keep a close watch on their hands. Someone who is lying might move their hand close to their mouth to try and cover up what they are saying. They may also fiddle around with their eyes, and nose.
If someone is telling you lies they might also start puling at their clothes, as they start to feel hot and uncomfortable. You should also check to see if their hiding their palms or showing them, as hiding their palms may be a sign that they are not being totally open and honest.
Another thing to look out for if you think you are being lied to is the persons eyes. Someone who is lying won’t look directly in your eyes. In fact they may even try and avoid eye contact altogether, by looking at the floor or ceiling. You may also notice that the person you are speaking to will blink a lot. This is another way to subconsciously avoid eye contact with you.
Someone who is lying to you when you ask them a question, will often try and quickly change the subject. The reason why they do this is so they don’t have to lie to you in the first place.
